The morning outside the window
Changes into whatever color
I want
Today's weather is a little more perfect than yesterday
A path lighting up beneath my feet
The sky folding above my head
Among hundreds of faces
I pass by at my own pace
The elevator stops at the same floor again today
No one called my name
The door code is still the same
And your cup is still in the sink
Even without turning on the lights
I know where you are
I follow the slow breath crossing the room when
I let go, one by one, of the pace
I've built up all day
I shed everything that was me today when
I lie down beside you
The pace begins to unwind
Keep me close
One more night
I'll leave tomorrow to tomorrow
I'm switched on
Lunch is a table above the clouds
And the fastest route home from work
I match the color of my new jacket
To the spectrum of the streets
My friends pick next weekend first
From the other side of the screen
I smile and wave
Enjoying today more than anyone
Through the window on the way home
The night flows downward
The higher the floor rises
The lighter the day becomes when
I quietly take off my shoes
In front of your sleeping door
It feels like my day that no one knows
Has finally ended
One breath
Two touches of warmth
The tilting numbers slowly return when
I lean against you without saying a word
The world stays just the same
We hit pH 7
I shed everything that was me today when
I lie down beside you
The pace begins to unwind
Keep me close
One more night
I'll leave tomorrow to tomorrow
I'm switched on
