The river never argued with the mountain
It simply found another way around
Patient through every winding mile
Certain the ocean was still ahead

A candle burned beside an open window
It's flame steady in the evening air
No applause, no witness
No purpose
Beyond giving life
While it could
I watched it for a long time
How beautiful it is to shine without needing recognition
Tonight my heart feels less crowded
